Driving Sustainable Metal Packaging Recycling Education

MetPac-SA Showcased on the Global Stage at AIP 2025 in Sydney

Dr. Kishan Singh, CEO of MetPacSA

We’re proud to announce that Dr. Kishan Singh, CEO of MetPacSA, represented South Africa at the Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) 2025 Conference, held on 6–7 May in Sydney.

As the leading professional body for packaging education and training in Australasia, the AIP plays a vital role in developing industry expertise across packaging technology, business leadership, sales, marketing, production, sustainability, and more. With over 60 years of service to the sector, the AIP offers a wide range of training and certification programs across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia.

Dr. Singh was invited as a keynote speaker alongside international thought leaders from the UK, Turkey, Austria, and Australia. His presentation focused on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), sharing insights into South Africa’s evolving regulatory landscape and MetPacSA’s leadership in implementing mandatory EPR schemes. The presentation was well received, with many acknowledging South Africa’s significant progress in this space—well ahead of the legislative discussions currently underway in Australia.

The conference also featured the Packaging Industry Design Awards (PIDA), celebrating innovation and excellence in packaging design.

We are honoured to see MetPacSA represented on such a prestigious international platform and to contribute to global conversations shaping the future of sustainable packaging.
